3 Reasons Why Social Media Traffic is Better Than Search Engines Traffic

Why Social Media Traffic is Better Than Search Engines Traffic

There used to be times when the only way to find specific info was to enter a related website address. That’s because there was nothing like search engines at that time, but that time did not last very long. Progress was made slowly and slowly and finally search engines took place.

People started to create websites after realizing their power, ease to maintain and ability to make money too. Search engines were like God for Webmasters of that time because that was their only traffic source. Google and other search engines were very polite at that time because there were not much users and customers.

But as the number of users began to rise, search engines started to become strict as well. Fortunately, Social Media was just born at that time, but still people were blindly running behind SEO and not social media.

And, that time did not last long as well and finally we stepped into 2013. Today social media is as much powerful as search engines or maybe more than that. Bloggers and Webmaster know it’s importance and they know how to use it affectionately.

Though, the majority of bloggers and experts still prefers search engines as the best thing, social media has few things that search engine may never be able to provide. Hence, I’m going to show you why social media traffic is better than search engines traffic.

1. Social Media users are reading lovers:
Social media:  Social users always love to read about their favorite subjects. When they login to their accounts, they don’t want to read or help someone or get help.

They are there for one thing and that is enjoying their time and looking what’s going on around. And, when they see something interesting that they think would be worth reading, they click and land on the blog.

One thing is clear that they came because they were curious about something and not because they were trying to find something. Hence, they stay there for some time and look around to find something more interesting.

Search Engine:  While in case of search engines, people find what they need. They are looking for data for research purposes or need solution about something. People who land on your blog because of these reasons are less likely to stay there and look around. They will immediately exit as they find what they needed.

2. Social Readers are highly targeted:
Social Media:  Visitors that you get from social media sites like Facebook and Twitter are highly targeted. They clicked what attracted them and sounded interesting.

And, some case studies have shown that Facebook users are much more targeted than all other social media users because they only click something that they have deep interest in.

As a result, social users cause a lower bounce rate, higher number of page views per visit and higher conversions into sales and subscribers.

Search Engine:  The case here is totally opposite when we talk about search engines. Unlike Social media like Facebook, users are not shown what they want, but what matches their keywords.

And, they cannot set any limits of what specific sites should be shown in their first page. They are exposed to results that search engine boots decide to. And, that’s the reason we sometimes miss amazing articles just because the author doesn’t know SEO well, but he does know his art.

3. Social Traffic is reliable:
Social Media:  This post cannot be completed without mentioning the reliability that comes along with social media. Once you have a decent following and relationships, you are unstoppable.

Nothing can cut you off your traffic that you build with your blood and soul. You get to enjoy the fruits of your work for ever. And, not for just one blog, but for every new one you start working on receives the same traffic. It only has to be interesting.

Search Engine:  Your everything can be stolen from you at any time and mostly without doing anything wrong. Google is releasing new updates like kids of uneducated people who just continue bringing more and more while thinking they are doing nothing wrong to this world.

And, you also have to repeat the same process for gaining traffic that you did for your already established blog or in simple words, you have to work from base again.

I just tried to show you the true facts and why social media traffic is better than search engines traffic. Did I successfully shake your mind? Or you think of me as a crazy guy who is preferring social media over search engines? In any case, let your fingers speak up your mind.

  3. Hey,
Excellent post. I think that Search engine traffic and social media traffic plays an important role. Social media traffic is not for whole life while search engine traffic comes for whole life. If you are ranked enough and have good domain authority then you can get a lot of traffic from search engines.
    Thank you
